  1. Many thanks to the panel for an excellent debate on the subject - though the discussion widened into other, relevant areas. For me, a shout-out in particular to David Phillips whose contribution during the debate, and in his regular reports, are always very insightful.

    From the ‘victims’ perspective, I’m sure it is very frustrating to receive so much spam. But, as emerged from the discussion, in many ways the debate is not a new one within PR. It harks back to the issue of quality versus quantity; a shotgun approach or a targetted one. Pitches of any kind - to media, commentators, columnists, bloggers or pundits of any type - require a targetted one, preferably with an established relationship behind it.
